Itinerario

Día 1:
Welcome to your Europamundo Trip Style!!! The information about the meeting place and start time of your circuit can be found on your voucher.
Día 1: Budapest-Szentendre-Danube Bend-Pannonhalma-Sopron.-
We start our journey with the Danube as a luxury companion. We leave Budapest and go up to the small town of SZENTENDRE, a jewel of cobbled streets and picturesque coloured houses where more than two hundred artists reside. We will visit this hive of art galleries, craft shops and small churches.

We will then arrive at the DANUBE BEND, a strategic area dotted with numerous castles and royal fortresses. We will stop at a viewpoint with spectacular views of the meander that trails the Danube before heading to Budapest.

Our route takes us to ESZTERGOM, where the Magyars established their capital. Cradle of Stephan I, first king of the Hungarians, and seat of the most important archbishopric in the country. At the foot of the imposing Cathedral of Saint Adalbert, along the river border that marks the Danube, we arrive at PANNONHALMA. After lunch, our guide will accompany us to Pannonhalma Archabbey (entrance included), the oldest in Hungary. This compendium of Magyar history consisting of a basilica, cloisters, cellars and a dazzling library with 400,000 volumes, as well as the earliest examples of the Hungarian language.

In the afternoon we will reach SOPRON. This beautiful city, which is usually off the beaten track, was rebuilt after a fire in the 17th century. Its most emblematic monument is the Fire Tower, with 60 meters, visible from any point. The Fidelity Gate was built at its feet in 1922. Our guide will explain its meaning to us. Accommodation and time to continue visiting the city centre.
Día 2: Sopron-Koszeg-Veszprém- Tapolca Lake Cave-Kesthely Lake Balaton.-
Today we go to the city of KÖSZEG, with its medieval and renaissance atmosphere. We will walk through its narrow streets and its main square, the Fötér, which presides over the Church of the Sacred Heart. Both the castle and one of its squares are named after Miklos Jurisic, defender of the city against the Ottoman advance in the 16th century.

We will then visit LAKE BALATÓN, the largest in Central Europe. KESZTHELY is the most important city to the west of the lake, full of elegant villas, among which the Festetic Palace stands out. With our vehicle, we will cross its sumptuous avenues and later we will have some free time for lunch.

Bordering the lake, between forests and fortresses, we head to TAPOLCA, a small city built over a complex network of underground springs. Our guide will accompany us to visit the emblematic Lake Cave of Tapolca (entrance included) *, where we can row ourselves in a small boat for two people. We will go through narrow galleries of crystal clear water, where sometimes we will even have to bend down to pass.

After this experience, we will visit VESZPRÉM, known as the City of Queens. Together with our guide, we will visit the heart of the old city, on one of the seven hills on which it was founded. We will go through the main street, Var Street, where the Óváros Ter Square opens, flanked by elegant buildings. Crossing the Hero’s Gate, we will reach the Castle, the statues of the kings St. Stephen and Giselle and the imposing viewpoint. Accommodation in some of the picturesque villages that surround Lake Balaton.
Día 3: Lake Balatón- Abbey of Tihany-Pecs.-
We continue to the TIHANY peninsula, a spit of land that extends five kilometres into the lake, with a height of eighty meters and excellent viewpoints. Here, we visit the Benedictine Abbey of Tihany (entrance to the abbey and museum included). The towers on the façade of this Baroque monastery, outlined over the lake, are one of the best-known images of the region. In the crypt of this fascinating Baroque church there is the tomb of King Andrew I, founder of the monastery.

We leave Lake Balaton by a ferry (included) that will take us to Szantod in a few minutes. From here we head south until the city of PECS, where we will have time for lunch and discover one of the most surprising historical centres in Europe. We will see from the remains of its early Christian necropolis, declared a World Heritage Site, to the green dome of the old Pasha Qasim mosque, a reminder of the Ottoman domination, converted into a Catholic temple from the 18th century.

In late afternoon, our guide will escort us to the lively Zsolnay neighbourhood, a true open-door cultural complex with numerous buildings around the Zsolnay family porcelain factory. Time to stroll past the mausoleum, pottery shops, and traditional breweries, before returning to the hotel. Accommodation.
Día 4: Pecs-Villany-Szeged-Kecskemét-Budapest.-
