Day 1: Madrid - Cordoba
If you’ve spent previous nights with us in Madrid, we’ll provide a transfer to the train station. If not, we’ll send you the high-speed train ticket in advance.

Our high-speed train will depart around 11:00 a.m. (time to be confirmed) and, in less than two hours, traveling at speeds of up to 300 km/h, we’ll arrive in Córdoba, a city known for its rich past as the capital of the Caliphate of Córdoba during the Islamic era. You’ll have free time to stroll through the city center. After lunch, we’ll enjoy a guided tour with a local expert, including the city’s most iconic monument: the magnificent Mosque–Cathedral (tickets included), a masterpiece of both Islamic and Christian architecture. We’ll also explore the historic quarter, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, filled with narrow streets, flower-filled patios, and historic buildings, as well as the ancient Synagogue (tickets included).

At dusk, when the summer heat of Córdoba begins to fade (from June 21 to September 20), we’ll head just outside the city to the archaeological site of Medina Azahara (tickets included), a palatial city built in the 10th century by order of the Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Rahman III, conceived as a symbol of the power and grandeur of the caliphate. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the rest of the year, or if this visit is not possible, we’ll instead extend our panoramic tour with access to one of Córdoba’s traditional patios (tickets included), adorned with flowers, wells, and fountains — a place of community life and a living legacy of the city’s past.
