Itinerary

Day 1: Madrid- Cuenca- Valencia.-

Welcome to your Europamundo Trip Style tour!
We leave around 8.30, in just under two hours we arrive in CUENCA, a city founded by the Arabs, with a very well preserved walled historical enclosure, steep cobbled streets and ruins of medieval castles. Highlights include the Cathedral of Santa María and San Julián and the Hanging Houses, which have become the icon of the city. After a walk with our guide we continue route to VALENCIA, capital of the Valencian community. We leave time for lunch next to the popular Malvarrosa beach. Have you tried the authentic paella valenciana? Later we will walk through the historic center of the city, where the Cathedral and its old Lonja stand out. A stop in the avant-garde City of Arts and Sciences (visit only outside, the entrance to the museum or to the oceanográfic are not included, our guide can help -if you wish- to make the reservation). Day 2: Valencia-Peñíscola-Tarragona-Freixenet-Barcelona.-
We will leave in the morning towards Catalonia. Before arriving at this autonomous community, we visit PEÑÍSCOLA, a beautiful coastal city overlooking the sea with its powerful walls and its historic center with steep streets, white houses and medieval castle. History tells us about Popes and pirates. Peñíscola is one of the most beautiful villages in the Spanish Mediterranean. We include entrance to the Castle of Peñíscola, located on a rock at the edge of the sea has been used as a set in several films.
Once in Catalonia, our next stop will be TARRAGONA, the ancient capital of the Roman Empire of the province of Tarragona that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its Roman remains. We will stop in front of the Balcony of the Mediterranean with its great views and visit (entrance included) the Roman amphitheater. After that, we will walk with the guide through the active historic center and free time for lunch.

We continue through Catalonian lands until we reach San Sadurní de Noya, in the region known for the production of one of the most famous wines in Spain: cava. We will visit the most famous of its wineries: FREIXENET, where we will learn about the production process of these sparkling wines and taste their two types of cava, including non-alcoholic cavas for children!
At the end of the afternoon, arrival in BARCELONA, accommodation and free time. Our guide will guide you what to visit at night and where to have dinner.



Day 3: Barcelona.-
With our guide we will discover the exciting capital of Catalonia, open to the Mediterranean. We visit its ramblas and the memories of the Universal Exhibitions and Olympics that took place there, we walk through the "Gothic quarter", we will see the "Generalitat", seat of the government of Catalonia and the cathedral. We include the entrance to the Sagrada Familia, Gaudí´s masterpiece, and we will discover other of his most recognized works in the city. Our guide will take you to the "Olympic Port", ideal place to have lunch in one of its many restaurants overlooking the sea.


Free time in the afternoon. At night we attend the show of the Magic Fountain of Montjuic, with its rhythms of light, colors, water and music.


Day 4: Barcelona- Montserrat- Poblet- Zaragoza- Madrid.-
We leave Barcelona through prosperous agricultural regions of central Catalonia towards the Mountain of Montserrat, climb to the summit to admire its fantastic landscapes and rock formations and visit the Monastery of Montserrat, sanctuary where the Virgin of Montserrat, patron saint of Catalonia, is located.


After that we travel between beautiful places to the Monastery of Poblet. Entrance and visit included, to this medieval monastery surrounded by walls and closely linked to the history of the Kingdom of Aragon and Catalonia. It is one of the best preserved medieval monasteries in Spain.


After that we travel to ZARAGOZA, capital of the autonomous community of Aragon. Time for lunch. With our guide we walk through the historic center of the city, crowned with the spectacular Basilica of the Virgen del Pilar, patron saint of Spain. We also visit the Cathedral of El Salvador, La Lonja and other buildings of great architectural beauty.


Continuation to MADRID, arrival around 20 hrs.-
