Itinerary

Day 1: Bucharest – Sinaia – Bran – Brasov
(**Important note: Driver-guide for maximum 3 passengers. From Four to Seven the tour will go with a driver and guide**.) Welcome to your Europamundo Tryp Styles tour! We begin the route traveling to the city Sinaia, located in the breathtaking Prahova Valley, surrounded by mountains with lush forests and waterfalls. Here, you will visit the impressive Peles Castle, the summer residence of the Romanian kings, created by King Charles I (**Important note**: closed Mondays from April to October and closed Mondays and Tuesdays from October to April). After the visit, continue to Bran to visit the famous Castle of Count Dracula. During the visit you will be able to discover the history of the mysterious place over the years and marvel at this construction, located on the top of a cliff and declared a national monument. Free time for lunch near the castle. The route continues towards Brasov to explore the city on foot, starting at the Council Square, built by the Saxons and known as Markplatz. One of the city´s highlights is the Black Church, the main Gothic church in Romania and the largest between Vienna and Istanbul, which was named after the Great Fire in 1689. On the tour, you will also have the opportunity to explore The narrowest street in Europe: Rope Street. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 2: Brasov – Sighisoara – Sibiu
The day starts with a visit to Sighisoara, the birthplace of Vlad Tepes or Count Dracula, where you can climb the famous Clock Tower to enjoy the beautiful Transylvanian landscape and stroll through its medieval streets full of colorful houses, full of stalls. of memories and picturesque corners. The city is surrounded by a medieval citadel listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After the visit, you will head to the medieval city of Sibiu, an architectural jewel, European Cultural Capital in 2007 and the cultural jewel of Romania. Take a guided walking tour of the beautiful city, passing by the Plazas Mayor and Menor, the iconic Bridge of Lies, and the Evangelical Church, among others. The city is full of bohemian-style alleys and squares, with picturesque colorful buildings on whose roofs you can see the famous “eyes of Sibiu”. Accommodation in Sibiu.
Day 3: Sibiu, Alba Iulia, Turda, Cluj Napoca
After breakfast, we drive towards Alba Iulia, the memorable place of the Great Union of Romania. Here we can visit the impressive Orthodox Cathedral and the Catholic Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in Romania. More importantly, you will take a tour of the Habsburg citadel, also known as the Alba Carolina citadel, to fortify which Roman ruins have also been used. Next stop will be in Turda to visit an impressive salt mine that historically supplied salt to the entire region of Transylvania. This salt mine was formed about 14 million years ago and was exploited by the Romans. It extends over 45 km2 underground, at a depth of 1.2 km. Transfer to Cluj Napoca and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 4: Cluj Napoca – Baia Mare – Desesti – Sapanta – Sighetu Marmatiei
We will start the day with a panoramic tour of the city center. Cluj Napoca is the largest city in Transylvania. The city was founded by the Romans and although it is a modern city it still retains some of the medieval characteristics. We will visit the Catholic Church of St. Michael, admire the most important Romanian Orthodox cathedral in Transylvania and the statue of the famous Hungarian king Matei Corvin. After the visit we will travel to the Maramures region, unique for its specially preserved culture, traditions and lifestyle. During the trip we will take a panoramic tour of the city of Baia Mare and continue with the visit of one of the most outstanding and beautiful Wooden Churches of Maramures, characteristic buildings declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1999 for their exceptional beauty, the Desesti wooden church. The last stop will be in Sapanta to visit the most peculiar and unique cemetery in the world, El Cementerio Alegre. On the colorful crosses you will find funny drawings and poems about the lives of the deceased. Transfer to Sighetu Marmatiei and accommodation.
Day 5: SIGHETU MARMATIEI, Barsana, Gura Humorului
Continuation along the Iza valley towards Barsana, where you will visit
the 18th century wooden church. The complex of wooden buildings and the picturesque
landscapes will leave you speechless. Today we will arrive in Bucovina, the
region famous for the painted monasteries that were built in the Middle Ages by
powerful Romanian rulers. The first visit to this area will be to the Moldovita
monastery. Dating back to the 16th century, the Moldovita Monastery features
marvelous gold and deep blue paintings, as well as large frescoes such as the
Siege of Constantinople. Transfer to Gura Humorului and accommodation.
Day 6: Gura Humorului – Painted Monasteries – Piatra Neamt
Our exploration of painted monasteries continues today with the Sucevita Monastery. Built as a fortress in the late 16th century, Sucevita is the last of the 22 painted churches in Bucovina and has the largest number of painted images. Inside the monastery, you will find a museum with an outstanding collection of religious objects. Our next stop will be Voronet, where we will visit the famous Voronet Monastery, known as the Sistine Chapel of the East due to its impressive interior and exterior paintings of intense blue, also known as Voronet blue. Transfer to Piatra Neamt.
Day 7: Piatra Neamt, Bacau, Tulcea
This seventh day of our itinerary begins with the departure from Piatra Neamt towards Bacau, a city rich in history and culture. Later, we will continue our trip to Tulcea, a key point on our tour of the beautiful Danube Delta region. This section of the itinerary will take us through varied and picturesque landscapes, providing an enriching visual experience. Upon arriving in Tulcea, a city strategically located at the gates of the Danube Delta, we will enter one of the largest biodiversity reserves in Europe. The region offers a unique mix of unspoilt nature and traditional fishing village life. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 8: Tulcea, Constanza
Start your day by exploring the fascinating Danube Delta Museum, with its sections dedicated to ethnography, art and natural sciences. Then, embark on an idyllic boat trip that will take you to the heart of the Danube Delta, a paradise for birds. Today your journey will take you to Constanta, the oldest city in Romania and the main port on the Black Sea. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 9: Constanta – Bucharest
The city tour will include a visit to the Museum of Archaeology, where you will immerse yourself in the rich Romanian history and visit the majestic Orthodox Cathedral. After the visit you can explore the city at your own pace and enjoy the uniqueness of Constanta. Next, we will travel to Bucharest where, if the flight schedule allows it, we will tour the old town of the capital - where monuments such as the Curtea Veche Church and its museum, Bucur church, Orthodox Cathedral and the Patriarchal Church, Catholic Cathedral, Athenaeum, Stavropoleos Church, Cantacuzino Savings Bank and Palace, Revolution Square, Lipscani Street.
