Itinerary

Day 1: Mainz- embarkation. Rudesheim.-
Cruise-embarkation.


Dinner on board.


Group transfer from Frankfurt airport to Mainz estimated at 11.30 hrs for boarding. We welcome you aboard the "MS DUTCH SYMPHONY" in Mainz. Registration begins at 16:00 hrs. However, if you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage at the front desk to explore the city on your own. At 18:00 we start sailing on a short journey to RUDESHEIM. Welcome cocktail and dinner. Overnight in Rüdesheim.


Day 2: Rudesheim- Navigation on the Moselle- Cochem.-
Cruise.

In the morning we will enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Moselle on a scenic navigation that will take us to the charming town of COCHEM. One of the most picturesque and popular towns on the Moselle River, it stands out for its spectacular "Reichsburg" castle. The city is known for its tourist interest, its beauty and for its wines, as some of the best wines in Germany are produced in this area. Overnight in Cochem.


Day 3: Cochem- Navigation on the Moselle- Bernskatel.-

During the morning we will have a relaxing navigation on the Moselle with different activities and informative talks on board. In the afternoon, after lunch, we will visit the historic and touristic BERNSKATEL. Originally, there were two towns, one on each side of the Moselle River, which were finally united in 1905 under the name Bernkastel-Keus. The city has important examples of traditional German wooden architecture, in this sense the Market Square with the Fountain of Saint Michael, patron saint of the city, stands out. In this square, the Town Hall itself stands out, which is a Renaissance building that is surrounded by buildings of traditional wooden architecture of great interest. On the other side of the river we find the neighborhood of Keus. Overnight in Bernskatel.


Day 4: Bernskatel- Trier.-

This morning we will finish the countercurrent navigation of the Moselle arriving near the border with Luxembourg, at the important city of TRIER. Founded in 16 BC by the Roman Emperor Augustus, it is not only known as the oldest city in Germany, but also a place with many treasures of ancient art and architectural monuments, such as the Porta Nigra, the Cathedral, the baths or the Electors´ Palace. Overnight in Trier.


Day 5: Trier- Zell.-

The Moselle has a system of 28 locks along its entire route and this morning we will be able to see first-hand 6 of the 10 that take place in German waters. Located in the north-west of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and about 13 km south of the town in the district of Cochem, ZELL has a population of approximately 4,100 inhabitants and has important wineries where you will have the opportunity to taste popular local wines. Overnight in Zell.


Day 6: Zell- Koblenz.-
Cruise.

In the morning we will finish the navigation on the Moselle passing its last 4 locks to reach Koblenz where it meets the Rhine. In Koblenz we will make a stop to enjoy this city known for its German corner "Deutsches Eck" where the Knights of the Teutonic Order settled in 1216 and where its most emblematic monument in honor of William I is located. After the visit, free time. Overnight in Koblenz.


Day 7: Koblenz- Romantic Rhine- Mainz.-
Cruise.

In the middle valley of the Rhine, we find one of the most spectacular landscapes in Europe, the romantic Rhine. In the morning we will sail its 65km, declared a World Heritage Site, where dozens of castles and vineyards are concentrated forming an idyllic picture that we can enjoy with the commentary and activities of our team on board and where the passage by the famous Loreley Rock stands out. In the afternoon, after lunch we will visit MAINZ, walk through its historic center where one of the imperial cathedrals (kaiserdome) is located or the Gutenberg museum. Overnight in Mainz.


Day 8: Mainz, disembarkation.-
Cruise disembarkation.


Breakfast.


At 09.00 there will be disembarkation and group transfer to Frankfurt airport (departure at 09.00 hrs).
