Itinerary

Day 1:
Welcome to your Europamundo Trip Style!!! The information about the meeting place and start time of your circuit can be found on your voucher.
Day 1: Edinburgh .-
We start a Edimburg City tour with our guide. This city is known as the “Northern Athens” because of the classical style of its buildings. A true highlight is the Royal Mile, the Old Town’s axis, an avenue created by several streets whose dark closes will allow us to understand the legends that inspired Stevenson’s The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. We will visit as well, Grassmarket Square, full of pubs, or the New Town, built in the 18th century.

During our walk, several places related to Harry Potter will be visited: the Elephant House Cafe where J.K. Rowling began to write the first novel or the luxurious Hotel Balmoral, where she finished the last one, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”; Greyfriars Kirkyard, where we will find Tom Riddle’s and McGonagall’s graves; the famous Victoria Street, whose charming shops inspired Diagon Alley, and the Meadows, home to the Holyrood Hippogriffs Society, organiser of Quidditch Competitions some days of the weeks. We will spend the rest of our day discovering the beautiful city of Edinburgh, thanks to the tips our guide will give us.

Day 2: Edinburgh – Borders – Alnwick Castle - Kelso- Edinburgh.-
The day will start by travelling to the Borders, a name that reminds us that this is border region with England. For centuries both nations have fought in these lands. We will drive south along the scenic Northumberland coastal road to Alnwick Castle (entrance fee included). Originally built to defend England from frequent Scottish attacks, today one of the most visited castles in the country, especially for its well-cared gardens and because was chosen as one of the location for the Hogwarts School in the film adaptations. Fans of the famous wizard will immediately recognise the courtyard where Hogwarts students learn to fly on magic broomsticks.

After our visit, we will travel to KELSO and visit this picturesque village.

We will travel back to Edinburgh. Accommodation.
Day 3: Edinburgh – South Queensferry – Evanton- Inverness .-
This morning, we will head north to the ancient kingdom of Fife crossing the Firth of Forth over the most modern of its three bridges, but, before that, we will make a brief stop at South Queensferry for a detailed view of the Victorian Railway Bridge, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We will continue our travel to INVERNESS, the capital of the Highlands, where we will stop to have lunch. In the afternoon, we will head to EVANTON where we will take a spectacular hike to the Black Rock Gorge, a 36-metre-high gorge where Harry hides the Hungarian Horntail dragon in the book "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire".

Accommodation in INVERNESS.
Day 4: Inverness – Ness Loch – Fort William – Mallaig – Fort William .-
Today we will head south to LOCH NESS, the most famous loch in Scotland, home to Nessie, and we will take a boat trip(included) across its mysterious waters. From the Clansman pier we will disembark at the ruins of Urquhart Castle, destroyed during the Jacobite Rebellions (Entrance fee included).

We continue to FORT WILLIAM, a lively town at the foot of Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the United Kingdom. This town was used as a location for several landscape scenes in the Harry Potter films and where we will have time for lunch.

Later in the afternoon, we will take an excursion to MALLAIG, a charming fishing village, along the scenic Isles Road passing, on our way, over the Glenfinnan Viaduct, which we all know from the Harry Potter films. We will stop to photograph the viaduct from below.

Return to FORT WILLIAM and accommodation.
Day 5: Fort William – Glencoe - Stirling – Falkirk – Edinburgh.-
On the last day of our Scottish tour, we will head to Glencoe, one of the most impressive glens in Scotland stopping there to take a picture. Lovers of the Harry Potter films will recognise the valley as a frequent location for outdoor scenes in the films.

The trip continues heading to the Southern Highlands, to the mountainous area known as the Trossachs. Here we will find Stirling Castle. This place was an important seat for the Scottish monarchs, and it has witnessed decisive battles. In Stirling, we will have time for lunch and a stroll around the historic town.

On the way to Edinburgh, we will pass through FALKIRK to see the huge statues of the Kelpies, legendary sea horses from Celtic mythology, which are now the largest equestrian statues in the world.
