Itinerary

Day 1:
Welcome to your Europamundo Trip Style!!! The information about the meeting place and start time of your circuit can be found on your voucher.
Day 1: Dublin - Hill of Tara – Newgrange - Monasterboice – Belfast.-
Departure from Dublin towards northwest to Hill of Tara (entrance included), one of the most important places in Irish history, full of legends. We will see different monuments such as a Neolithic passage tomb, stone rings linked to the Celtic occupation of the island, and standing stones associated with the kings of Ireland.

We continue towards NEWGRANGE, UNESCO World Heritage Site. This large mound dating from 3000 B.C. would have served as a tomb in antiquity, and is perfectly oriented astronomically so that the sunlight penetrates the chamber during the winter solstice.

Afterwards, we head to the Monastery of Monasterboice, in County Louth, whose foundation is attributed to Saint Buite, a disciple of Saint Patrick. Two churches and a big round tower stand out, but without doubt, the most significant features are the famous Celtic crosses, some of the most beautiful and best preserved in the world.

We continue to BELFAST, the capital of Northern Ireland and one of the most complete cities in Ireland, where we will take a panoramic tour with our tour leader and discover its perfect blend of culture, history, architecture, unique gastronomy and open-minded people, and take a walk through the famous murals that tell us about the recent history of the country. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation.
Day 2: Belfast - Carrick-a-Rede - Giants Causeway - Dunluce – Londonderry.-
We leave Belfast behind to go on to one of the most unique landscapes on the north coast of the island, the Carrick-a-Rede suspension bridge. It is 20-metres long and 25 metres above sea level, it offers fabulous views of the Northern Irish coast.

We continue our journey to visit one of the most unique and famous geological formations of the Emerald Isle, declared a World Heritage Site: The Giant´s Causeway (entrance included). Formed by more than 40,000 basalt columns that were created around 60 million years ago according to Irish mythology, and whose origin dates back to a battle between two giants of Ireland and Scotland, Finn and Bennandonner.

After lunch, we will visit the ruins of the XII century Dunluce Castle (entrance included), an Irish National Heritage Site. This iconic building was considered one of the most impressive castles when it was running, and has been featured in some of the scenes of the famous Game of Thrones series.

We continue to LONDONDERRY, Northern Ireland´s second city, full of pubs and life, and the only fully walled city on the island. Its walls are considered one of the most beautiful in Europe. Londonderry is a symbol of peace in Ulster and is the site of the first Protestant cathedral built on British soil after the Reformation. Accommodation.
Day 3: Londonderry - Boyle Abbey - Carrowmore – Knocknarea – Galway.-
Departure from Londonderry heading south, to enter County Roscommon where we find Boyle Abbey (entrance included), of Cistercian origin, founded in 1161. You can visit the ruins of the old church, the cloister, kitchens and the monks´ cells.

We will now visit Carrowmore (entrance included), the cemetery of megalithic tombs. We will climb the impressive Knocknarea or the queen Mab of Celtic legends to admire from the top of the hill the magical and spectacular scenery of the Sligo coastline and the interior of Ireland.

Afterwards, we arrive in GALWAY, the largest city on the west coast and one of the most dynamic in Ireland. It has an important port, one of the most important universities in the country and a lively historic centre with live music in some famous pubs. We will take a pleasant stroll through the city centre with our tour leader. Accommodation.
Day 4: Galway - Aran Islands – Galway.-
Today, we take a boat to the nearby Aran Islands, one of the most beautiful and historic islands in Ireland. It is a group of three islands, and we will visit the largest and most unique, INISHMORE. This is an important tourist destination, both for their landscapes and cliffs, as well as for their archaeological sites, with several Bronze and Iron Age settlements, especially Dún Aonghasa, located on the cliffs which offers a wonderful view. We also find monastic areas, such as the enclosure known as the Seven Churches, or different hermitages used for those looking for a refugee on these islands.

Return to GALWAY and accommodation.
Day 5: Galway - Poulnabrone - Cliffs of Moher - Craggaunowen - Limerick - Adare – Killarney.-
We leave Galway heading south towards County Clare where we will visit one of the most important megalithic monuments in Europe, Poulnabrone Dolmen, a large tomb from the Neolithic period.

We will continue our journey to the famous Cliffs of Moher (entrance included), one of the most impressive and visited natural formations in the world, with an extension of 8 km and more than 320 million years old. We will then drive to Craggaunowen (entrance included), a fortified settlement which is now an open-air archaeological museum that allows an interactive experience to the visitors about the way of life during the Bronze Age in Ireland.

After this, we will arrive in LIMERICK, situated on the banks of the River Shannon. Its compact old town is dominated by the medieval St Mary´s Cathedral and St John´s Square, surrounded by Georgian terraced houses. On the banks of the river is the late XII century King John´s Castle.

We will then visit the small village of ADARE, considered one of the Ireland´s prettiest villages and a designated Heritage Town. Accompanied by our tour leader, we will visit its traditional architecture, its picturesque stone houses with thatched roofs that maintain their medieval appearance.

We will continue to the small and charming KILLARNEY, Ireland´s second most visited where its neo-Gothic St. Mary´s Cathedral and lively nightlife stand out. Accommodation.
