Itinerary

Day 1:
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Arrival. Transfer to the hotel.
Welcome to Europe!!!. On arrival at the airport we shall be waiting to transfer you to the hotel. You can enjoy free time until your tour starts, information about the meeting place and start time can be found on the information boards in the hotel reception area.


IMPORTANT - IF YOU REQUESTED ADDITIONAL NIGHTS on arrival at the hotel you will have your booking made but the guide of your trip will normally not arrive until the start of the included activities. YOUR TIME BEFORE THIS MOMENT IS THEREFORE FREE. At your hotel they can help you with all the information you need.


NB: The schedules you will find in this itinerary are approximate. The guide, depending on the situation and in order to improve the development of the circuit, may adjust the schedules.

Day 2: Athens.-
TODAY´S HIGHLIGHTS: City tour in Athens.


We will enjoy a panoramic tour of the city with a local guide which includes the Presidential Palace, the Panathinaikos stadium where the first modern Olympic games were held, the national library, the bustling squares of the center; the new neighborhoods that emerged after the 2004 Olympic games. The tour will end at the Acropolis site (entry not included).


In the evening we include a transfer to the area of PLAKA, a place full of small Greek taverns where you can also enjoy this country´s folklore.



Day 3: Athens - Corinth - Mycenae- Tripoli - Olympia.-
Total distance: 310 km Countryside: Very pretty scenery with the sea in the background. Mountains of the interior of the Peloponnese.
NB: We suggest comfortable footwear to see the archaeological complexes. It is also recommendable to take sun protection and a bottle of water in the hotter months.


09.00 hrs - Athens -departure.
10:30 hrs Corinth Canal - A short stop to photograph this millenary work.
11.00 hrs - Acrocorinth. Arrival at this immense mediaeval fortress alongside the ancient city of Corinth. At the top of the settlement of what was one of the largest Acropolis of ancient Greece are the foundations of what was formerly a temple to Aphrodite.


12.00 hrs - Acrocorinth. Departure.
13.00 hrs Mycenae. - Arrival at the colossal eighteenth century BC citadel, the cradle of the first European civilisation (tickets not included). Time to visit and for lunch


15:30 hrs -Mycenae. Departure.
16:30 hrs Tripoli. A stop to stroll in the provincial capital of this region that produces excellent wines.


17:30 hrs Tripoli. Departure.
19:30 hrs Olympia – Arrival, accommodation and dinner included.
Day 4: Olympia - Patras.- boarding.
Total distance covered: 375 km. Note: This evening involves an overnight journey. We recommend that you pack a small travel bag containing the items that you will need for the crossing. The suitcases will remain in the luggage compartment of the coach. Please have your passport to hand as it is often requested for embarkation.

Visit the archaeological site of Olympia In the company of a local guide. You will be able to visit the museum and archaeological site (guided visit; entry ticket to the complex is not included), which was the cradle of the Olympic Games in ancient times.


12.30hrs- Leaving Olimpia, we continue along the route to Patras.
14.00hrs- Patras. Arrival to the third largest city in Greece. There is time to wander through its lively centre, full of commercial activity and have lunch.


15.30hrs-Departure. We take a beautiful suspension bridge over the Gulf of Corinth and travel to the north of Greece. Pleasant landscapes on our route.-
17.15 hrs- Amfilochia- short stop in this coastal city.


18.15 hrs.- Amfilochia. Departure.
19.15 hrs- Arta- short stop to see the Roman bridge of the city of Epirus.


19.45 hrs.- Arta. Departure.
21.15 hrs.- Igumenitsa. Arrival, free time for dinner before boarding our ferry. Accommodation in double interior cabins with private bathroom. Remember, breakfast is not included during the trip.


Note:The ferry used, which is the only one available, leaves at one in the morning, but boarding is not usually possible until after midnight. Sometimes due to late arrival, the ferry might be delayed. It is a simple ferry (double cabins with private bathroom). Occasionally, due to weather conditions, vessel inspection or shedule changes, strikes, fully booked ferryboats or other reasons, we are forced to adapt the schedules of the following day itinerary according to the berthing time of the ship or fly from Athens to Rome, in which case the visits to Amfilochia and Arta are cancelled and a Sunday visit to Naples and Pompeii is included.

Day 5: Ancona- Loreto - Rome.
Total distance covered: 530 km. Early morning arrival in Brindisi or Bari.
08:30 hrs- (approximately, depending on the disembarkation time) Brindisi (or Bari)– Departure. We are now in the south of Italy, in the region of Puglia.
10:00 hrs -Trani –Arrival-. Small, picturesque city on the seashore, with its fishing port, its ancient cathedral and streets that teem with life. Time to wander round.
12:00 hrs - Trani –Departure-. We cross the south of Italy through the Apennines. Stop en route to have lunch.
15:30 hrs - Naples –Arrival. Time for a coffee and a walk round the capital of southern Italy.
17:30 hrs -
Naples –Departure. We travel back to Rome.
20:15 hrs –Rome –Arrival.
Day 6: Rome.
Highlights: city tour of Rome. Roman Coliseum (admission price included) and Vatican City.


The morning starts with an early interesting city tour of the “Eternal City”, in which we will visit the Caracalla Baths, Venice Square, Circo Massimo, the Capitoline Hill and St. John Lateran. We enter the tiny state of the Vatican. The Vatican City is a principal centre of Christianity in the world. You will be able to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. Admission to the Coliseum included. This building, which dates from the first century, was built for the purpose of organising entertainment for the Romans, such as gladiator combats. We have the chance to learn about the ancient society of the Roman Empire.


18:30 h. Transfer to Via Cavour, which has many local restaurants and others that serve international cuisine, including Indian and Chinese. Return to hotel.


Day 7:
After breakfast, end of our services.
